Wantagh High School Honors the Best-of-the-Best

Wantagh High School’s top seniors were recognized for their scholarship, service, enthusiasm for extracurricular activities and for overcoming hardships during the annual senior awards ceremony, held on May 26 in the high school auditorium for students and virtually for parents.

During this cherished tradition, led by senior awards adviser Kali Psihos, 85 of the Class of 2021’s most notable students received 64 awards and scholarships made possible by local community businesses, alumni and organizations, as well as special honors from government officials.

Ms. Psihos said the ceremony is a way to honor students who have worked diligently throughout their four years of high school and especially during the past year of the pandemic. “Each of you has given your all in unprecedented times,” she said.

Principal Dr. Paul Guzzone also congratulated the students for putting forth their personal best. He said the community shouldn’t be surprised at the honorees’ accomplishments because they are all Wantagh Warriors.
