Literature provides an outlet to explore historical, fictional, or present-day context. Readers can analyze the author’s craft, determine the intended audience, gain perspective, obtain a sense of empathy, or identify parallels between time periods and situations to draw connections to and between characters. These are all close reading skills and strategies we build and practice in our English Language Arts classes. If you have any concerns about the content of our catalog, please refer to the material review process.
