"I know in my heart that man is good. That what is right will always eventually triumph, and there's purpose and worth to each and every life."

- Ronald Reagan

The Social Studies Department of the Wantagh School District believes that the future of our democratic society depends on the development of free and reasoning citizens who work to reach their potential. To this end, we provide opportunities for students to learn to think and make wise decisions, to understand and appreciate their cultural heritage, to realize that all actions have both short and long term consequences, and to live compassionately with their fellow human beings. To achieve this, we attempt to provide an atmosphere where inquiry is welcome, respect is mutual, and truth is always sought.
