The Wantagh ENL Department works in concert with the classroom and content area teachers to immerse our students in the English language. We believe that through continued dialogue and a shared understanding of curriculum at all levels with classroom teachers, guidance counselors and administrators, students in our ENL Program will be provided with differentiated activities and assessments to help improve and develop English language skills including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. ENL instruction will include the integration of the latest technological tools to further enrich skill development in both English and the academic content areas. Students in Wantagh receive co-taught ELA instruction as well as stand-alone instruction based on the student's language level and academic needs. Our students' progress is monitored regularly and parent contact is encouraged.
