Wantagh Elementary 5th Graders Begin New Chapter in Academic Career
Wantagh Elementary School’s 2025 graduates took their seats on the high school auditorium stage on June 26 for their moving-up ceremony. They beamed with pride as they looked at their equally proud family members in the audience.
Students processed in as “Pomp and Circumstance” played followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and “America the Beautiful.” The fifth grade graduates then sang “Shine Your Way” under the direction of retiring music teacher Beth Marinis who enjoyed her final graduation ceremony.
Prior to each student’s name being called, Dr. Bonagura recognized Mrs. Ferrara, Mrs. Marinis and Mrs. Roseland on their upcoming retirements thanking them for dedicating their careers to the students of Wantagh.
As the first teacher to announce her class, Mrs. Ferrara told parents and members of the audience, “We share your feelings of pride and love as they complete their journey at the Wantagh Elementary School.”
Principal Dr. Randee Bonagura addressed the students by saying how she is proud of each student. “Individually and as a class, you have grown so much and have become the wonderful young men and women that we are honored to call the class of 2025,” says Dr. Bonagura. “On this day, we say goodbye and good luck as you begin a new chapter in your academic career.”
After the ceremony, students received their certificates from their teachers before being reunited with their families.
