College Board recognizes 108 Wantagh AP Scholars

The College Board has recognized 108 Wantagh High School students as Advanced Placement Scholars for exceptional achievement on the May 2020 national exams. AP courses complete with a score of 3 or higher on the final exam may afford students the opportunity to earn college credit.


  • Forty-six students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving a 3 or higher on three or more exams.

  • Thirty-five students received the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of 3.25 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

  • Twenty-seven students were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction by earning an average grade of 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades of 4 or higher on five or more of these exams.

  • Class of 2020 graduates Abigail Colaco, Justin Reisert, Timothy Ross and Athena Yao were also recognized as National AP Scholars for having scored 4 or better on five or more AP exams and an average of 4 on all AP exams taken. 

  • Additionally, 13 Class of 2020 graduates received an AP Capstone Diploma and one student received an AP Seminar and Research Certificate. Fifteen Class of 2021 seniors have qualified to receive an AP Capstone Diploma and 19 seniors have qualified to receive an AP Seminar and Research Certificate.
