The cast of High School Musical Jr. enjoyed an unforgettable experience last week when Thayne Jasperson stopped by to work with the cast and crew in a hand-on theatrical workshop.  Jasperson is the only original cast member of Hamilton currently performing on Broadway. Jasperson’s impressive career includes dancing in High School Musical and High School Musical 2, as well as competing in Season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance. Now, he continues to captivate audiences on Broadway in one of the most celebrated musicals of all time.

As part of this special opportunity, students participated in a two-hour session that included a 90-minute rehearsal workshop, a 30-minute Q&A with Thayne, and a live song performance from Hamilton. Jasperson tweaked a few things here and there to help make the cast of High School Musical Jr. event better for their opening night. This unique experience gave students valuable insight into performing on stage from an actual professional performer while learning about the dedication it takes to perform at the highest level.

Following the workshop, students grabbed autograph cards, Hamilton playbills and shirts before lining up to get Thayne Jasperson’s autograph.
