Senior Athletes Affirm Their College Plans
Eight Wantagh High School athletes have committed to playing at Division 1 and Division 2 colleges next year, and they were recognized at a letter of intent signing ceremony on Nov. 19.
Joined by their parents, siblings and administrators, the seniors will play for teams on Long Island, upstate New York and throughout the Northeast. Jennifer Keane, director of physical education, health and athletics, said this is a “monumental achievement” that reflects their hard work, dedication and determination. She commended their commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
Principal Dr. Paul Guzzone added that the seniors are a “remarkable group” who have made sacrifices to achieve greatness. He noted that even when they suit up for different teams next year, they will still be Warriors at heart and will continue to bring pride to their hometown.
Dr. Christopher Widmann, assistant principal, introduced the eight seniors and spoke about their individual athletic achievements at Wantagh High School. The college-bound athletes are:

Riley Forthofer, lacrosse, University of Albany
Lyla Ingrilli, lacrosse, University of Maryland
Dylan Martini, lacrosse, University of Albany
Peyton Naus, lacrosse, Molloy University
Emma Priest, softball, Adelphi University
Sadie Reich, volleyball, Seton Hall University
Isabella Sandoval, lacrosse, Binghamton University
