Forest Lake Fourth Graders are Wild About Robots
After reading “The Wild Robot,” fourth graders in Michele Anszelowicz’s class at Forest Lake Elementary School worked on creating their own robots. Their supplies included clay, tin foil and pipe cleaners.
The project fostered creativity, imagination and innovation. Each student had to come up with a name for his or her robot as well as special features. The young engineers explained how their robots would be helpful, and could adapt and change. The class also went to see “The Wild Robot” at the Bellmore Playhouse, and the compared and contrasted the book and the movie.
