High School Students Visit Flight 93 National Memorial

Twenty Wantagh High School students had the incredible opportunity to visit the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania August 19 – 21, alongside students from Farmingdale High School.
We are deeply grateful to the Gary Sinise Foundation and its dedicated volunteers for making this meaningful experience possible for our students and for helping ensure the stories of September 11th’s heroes continue to be heard.
Thank you to military veterans John Hamilton, Dudley Capps, and Doc Jacobs for sharing their experiences, and to Ken Nacke and Gordy Felt for sharing the stories of their brothers who lost their lives aboard Flight 93.
For our students, this was more than a visit to a historic site: it was the privilege to listen, learn, remember, and understand the human stories of the heroes of September 11th, which illuminated one of the most significant days in our nation’s history.
