World Language Honor Society Inducts 155 Students in Celebration of Cultural Learning

World Language Honor Society inductions took place within both Wantagh High and Middle School where a combined 155 students earned the prestigious honor during National World Language Week. These students, dedicated to mastering French, Italian, and Spanish, have demonstrated not only academic excellence but also a deep appreciation for the cultures and traditions behind the languages they study.
During each ceremony, the commitment to global understanding and communication was highlighted reminding students that language is more than just words. It is a bridge to new perspectives, connections, and experiences.
Cara Wolf, World Language Advisor for Wantagh High School, shared “Language allows us to explore the gateway into different worlds, and that world views have been expanded into learning new cultures.” The inductees have embraced this philosophy, proving that learning a new language is more than memorizing vocabulary—it is about opening doors to meaningful interactions, connections, and a broader understanding of the world.
During the Wantagh Middle School ceremony closing, Justine Hernandez, Spanish teacher and World Language Honor Society Advisor shared, “I hope that languages take you to the most amazing places.”
Congratulations to all the honorees for their dedication to cultural enrichment.
