To mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, students and staff at Mandalay Elementary School in the Wantagh School District came together to show their support for children and families affected by pediatric cancer. On Sept. 24, they wore gold, the official color of childhood cancer awareness. 

Dressed in shades of gold and yellow, the school community demonstrated solidarity and helped raise awareness about the challenges faced by young cancer patients. It served as a meaningful reminder of the importance of compassion, hope and support for those battling the disease. The sea of gold throughout the hallways and in classrooms symbolized a collective commitment to standing with children fighting cancer and honoring their strength and resilience.
